Starting February 1st, a $25 late fee for each dog license will take effect. This is a state mandated fee and cannot be waived. All dogs over the age of 6 months are required to be registered with a Maine State Municipal dog tag. Because the State of Maine has introduced a new dog registration system, you must bring your dog’s current rabies certificate. Dog licenses are an important tool for dog owners and Animal Control Officers as it increases our ability to track and return lost dogs. We want to make sure we get your dog back to you and avoid the owner paying fees for having to take them to the shelter until the owner is found! The cost is $6 for spayed/neutered and $12 for non-altered dogs.
Join us for a vital community conversation to enhance the response, preparedness and resilience in the face of increasing storm events in our community.
